Gel (Gelatine) or Rubber lifters as they are sometime referred to, have been developed for the lifting of fingerprints, footprints, dust marks and micro traces from crime scenes. The non aggressive, low-adhesive gelatine layer permits the lifting of trace elements from almost every surface including porous materials such as paper or cardboard. Lifted marks can then be photographed or examined with oblique lighting. These lifters can be cut with scissors to fit a particular job before removing the cover sheet.
